A bidet seat cover is a fitted lid for a pan that already has a built-in bidet nozzle in the bowl — these covers are model-specific and also come in left or right outlet versions to match where the water connection sits on your pan. A smart bidet seat, by contrast, is a self-contained unit that replaces a standard seat on a regular pan and adds its own wash and dry functions, without needing a pan-integrated nozzle.

If you're replacing a cover on an existing bidet pan, check the pan model and outlet side before ordering, since a mismatched cover won't seal properly. If you're adding bidet function to a standard toilet, confirm the seat fixing centres match your pan, and check whether the model you want is mechanical (water-pressure only) or electric with features like heating and drying, since electric models need a nearby power point.
