Depth is the main practical advantage — these sinks comfortably fit oven trays, stockpots and mixing bowls that would overhang a standard bowl. Before ordering, check the sink's overall width and apron height against your cabinetry, since the base cabinet needs its front panel removed or notched to expose the apron.

Reversible models let you choose between two apron styles, such as a fluted panel on one side and a flat face on the other, which is useful if you are undecided on the exact look partway through a renovation. As with any fireclay sink, weight matters: confirm your cabinetry or support brackets can carry the sink's full weight, particularly for undermount installations where the sink hangs from the benchtop underside.
