How to choose the right shower track and curtain

Measure the shower recess before selecting a track. Straight tracks suit rectangular recesses and walk-in showers, while curved tracks are used where the shower opening needs to angle around a fixture or follow a rounded recess. In accessible and aged-care bathrooms, a curtain track is often preferred over a rigid glass screen because it does not restrict a carer's access and reduces the risk of a trip or collision hazard near a wet floor.

Choose curtain width and length to fully enclose the shower recess with enough overlap to prevent water escaping onto the bathroom floor. Commercial-grade curtain fabric should be wipe-clean and resistant to mould in constantly wet, high-humidity environments, which reduces the maintenance burden compared to residential-grade fabric. Match the track finish, such as designer black or standard silver, to the wider bathroom fit-out.
